7. Open a savings account and arrange for your salary to be deposited into this account.
8. Interim payments to your creditors should be made by way of cash or EFT transfers.
9. Make the necessary payment arrangements for accounts that cannot be placed under debt review, e.g. rent, water and electricity, mobile phone, policies, insurance, security, etc.
10. You are responsible for honouring the original contractual payments on all your credit agreements until the Debt Counsellor declares you to be over-indebted and your debt has been restructured.

We can only be of assistance if you: Are HONEST — DO NOT leave out or omit any information — Provide CORRECT and ACCURATE information — Advise your Debt Counsellor immediately if any of your contact details change.

WHILE UNDER DEBT REVIEW A CONSUMER MAY NOT:

11. Enter into any further credit agreements.
12. Make use of any credit cards, garage cards, petrol cards, overdraft facilities, etc.

Section 6: Costs and Fees

13. An initial application fee of R50.00 will be deducted from the Consumer's first payment towards the PDA.
14. An approved fee will be deducted from the Consumer's first payment towards his/her creditors, to a maximum of R8,000.00 for a single application or R9,000.00 for a double application, in respect of Debt Counsellor's fees.
15. A monthly after-care fee of 5% of the Consumer's monthly payment towards his/her creditors will be deducted for Debt Counsellor's fees for the first 2 years, and 3% thereafter, but never exceeding R450.00.
16. The PDA will also deduct a monthly distribution fee on a sliding scale: R0 for accounts less than R100; R5 for distributions between R100–R200; R10 for R201–R499; and R15 for all distributions greater than R500 per month.
17. A Magistrate's Court Order will be required to finalise the protection of the Consumer in terms of the National Credit Act. The Consumer will remain liable for the legal costs of obtaining such a court order.
18. In the event that the Consumer withdraws from or terminates the debt review process after a Notice in terms of Section 17.2 has been issued and legal proceedings have commenced, the Consumer shall remain liable for all reasonable legal costs incurred up to the date of such withdrawal.
